Doug DeHaan Putting It Together

5/1/2001

Recapped By: Carl Hein

Canadian resident and team Blackfoot rider Doug DeHaan is showing the progress he expected from all his injuries this year.   Doug put his CR250R in the main event in Utah and finished fifteen.  Here’s how things progressed for Doug: “I wasn’t in contention in the heat race but in the semi I battled with Kyle Lewis and Mike Craig for most of the race and placed third to qualify for the main event sandwiched between Lewis and Craig.  Some of the big jumps were difficult to do as the bikes weren’t running as crisp as usual with the high elevation.”

“My knee is only sore after I ride and doesn’t really bother me when I ride.   One thing, which has happened since coming back, has been my starts have been really good.  I attribute this to all the time on put in on starts when I really couldn’t ride during rehab.   I wasn’t expecting these results but I’m quit happy with them.”

“I will be riding Las Vegas this weekend, taking the next week off, attending the Toronto Supercross the following week and then I’ll begin the Canadian Nationals running the number 5 on my Blackfoot Honda  CR250.”
